چکیده

We have recently noticed an accidental error in part of a figure which appeared in the above‑mentioned article. In Fig. 3A, the image for the HGC27‑pEF, 15 h panel was mistakenly replicated as the HGC27‑KD, 0 h panel in the same figure, and the AGS‑pEF, 15 h and AGS KD, 0 h panels were mistakenly switched with each other. We have reviewed the original files and the individual figures for the submitted composite figure, and realized that the error occurred when we produced the composite figure by marrying the individual images to the final figure. The same image was accidentally pasted twice without us being fully aware of the error. We have identified all the original images, and the corrected version of Fig. 3 is shown below. We regret that this error occurred, and thank the Editor for affording us the opportunity to publish this Corrigendum. [the original article was published in the Oncology Reports 34: 1977-1987, 2015; DOI: 10.3892/or.2015.4162].

Sphingosine 1-phosphate interacts with Survivin pathway to enhance tumorigenesis in cancer cells

Objective(s):Degradation of sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), as a bioactive lipid, or deregulation of its production involves in tumor progression, metastasis and chemoresistance. Since the tumor progression effects of S1P and its mechanism in chronic lymphoblastic leukemia and non-small cell lung cancer is not fully understood, we investigated the role and one of the mechanisms of S1P in tumor p...

Sphingosine 1-Phosphate Receptor 2 Regulates the Migration, Proliferation, and Differentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a multipotent cell population acquired most prominently from bone marrow with the capacity to differentiate into osteoblasts, chondrocytes, adipocytes, and others. MSCs demonstrate the capacity to home to sites of injury and contribute to tissue repair. Sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) is a biologically active sphingolipid impacting proliferation, apoptosis, infla...

Sphingosine 1-Phosphate and Cancer: Lessons from Thyroid Cancer Cells

Sphingomyelin is found in the cell membrane of all eukaryotic cells, and was for a long time considered merely as a structural component. However, during the last two decades, metabolites of sphingomyelin, especially sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), have proven to be physiologically significant regulators of cell function. Through its five different G protein-coupled receptors, S1P regulates a wi...

Sphingosine-1-Phosphate Induces the Migration of Thyroid Follicular Carcinoma Cells through the MicroRNA-17/PTK6/ERK1/2 Pathway

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a bioactive lipid known to play a role in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. However, the molecular mechanisms of S1P regulated migration of papillary thyroid cancer cells are still unknown. In this study, we showed that S1P induced PTK6 mRNA and protein expression in two thyroid follicular cancer cell lines (ML-1 and FTC-133). Further studies demonstrated th...

Benzyl butyl phthalate promotes breast cancer stem cell expansion via SPHK1/S1P/S1PR3 signaling

Understanding the regulatory mechanisms unique to breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) is required to control breast cancer metastasis. We found that phthalates promote BCSCs in human breast cancer cell cultures and xenograft tumors. A toxic phthalate, benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), activated aryl hydrocarbon receptor in breast cancer cells to stimulate sphingosine kinase 1 (SPHK1)/sphingosine 1-pho...
